I’ve been seeking out a particular type of design hotel over the last few years. They’re properties with visionary owners who, in many cases, fell in love with an area of the world and share it with a special property that authentically allows guests to learn about where they are, and to love it, too. Like the amazing Monastero Santa Rosa (above) on Italy’s Amalfi Coast. I was lucky enough to kickoff this project by writing about five of these hotels for the current issue of Virginia Living. Read the story here. And I’ll be covering them in a new section called, This Must be the Places, named for my favorite Talking Heads song.
Have one to add? Let me know.
